What else should a student know about the new SAT my site, besides this new test-taking method? For the better information providence to the students sat-tutor-palo-alto-ca have prepared an outline of some important digital SAT facts below, but before that-let’s quickly revise what has remained the same in the new version of SAT from the previous one.

What remains the same with digital SAT

It’s good to know that the digital SAT is still used by admission officers to determine if a student is ready to attend higher education. The new SAT retained some of its rigor when it came to measuring the same skills and knowledge that the paper SAT measured. The digital SAT scores remain between 400 and 1600. They are the sum of the Math and Reading & Writing sections, with a maximum of 800 for each.

Let’s now look at some of the differences in the new digital SAT.

The Digital SAT has a shorter length.
This test is shorter than the paper SAT which takes 3 hours. It lasts 2 hours 14 minutes. This reduction in test time has led to a decrease in the number of questions from 154 to 98.

The Digital SAT contains only two sections. Since the new SAT only has two sections – Reading & Writing & Math – the Reading and Writing sections of the paper SAT have been combined into one section. Each module contains two equal-length modules.

The Digital SAT is adaptable
Adaptive testing involves offering students different question sets based on the performance of a module. The first module is the same for all students. However, the second module can be either easier or more difficult depending on the results of the student who has taken the first module.

All Math Sections Can Use Calculator
The calculator will be available to students throughout the Math section. This section no longer has separate calculator and non-calculator sections. It is now a single section where the use of calculators is allowed.
